Database Analyst – Bensenville, IL: The Database Analyst will administer and maintain the security and integrity of the databases. Implement data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes. Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Lead the efforts of installing and maintaining database management software.
Infrastructure Engineer – Bensenville, IL: This role is responsible for the design, definition and implementation of an enterprise Storage Area Network. Driving strategy across the enterprise will require strong communication skills and proposal writing experience. Tuning, monitoring, and performance reporting on a mix of disk and tape backups is required.
Infrastructure Analyst – Bensenville, IL: An Infrastructure Analyst is the subject matter expert within core technical areas specific to the server and desktop environment. An expert in directory services, software distribution, and messaging systems. This person will have significant experience in one of the following area: Windows OS, Active Directory, Exchange, Unix administration, or Linux administration. In addition to these primary areas of focus, problem analysis/prevention, system management tools and vulnerability management will be secondary technical areas.
Weblogic Administrator – Bensenville, IL: This role assists with the design, development and implementation of infrastructure technologies with a focus on Weblogic. Provide subject matter expertise around specific technologies. Assist with second-level support for infrastructure technologies. Provides support to system configuration, troubleshooting, security, resource monitoring and backup/archiving. Evaluate effectiveness of back-up procedures and contingency plans.
Application Developer (J2EE) – Bensenville, IL: Application Developers provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing and supporting applications. Web application development in a SDLC environment is critical to success. Remain aware of new technologies / programming languages. Participate in application development and enhancement activities focused on Java and J2EE.

Enterprise Data Architect Manager (Data Governance) – Bensenville, IL: The Enterprise Architect Coordinator is the day-to-day technical data advisor and coordinator for USCC’s enterprise data governance authority. Responsible for being the critical liaison between the Data Governance/ Data Stewardship rules and any and all IS data impacts; including in-flight projects, as well as on-going maintenance applications.

The Sr. Architect is expected to have general expertise in enterprise architecture (DB, middleware, client server, infrastructure), with a focus on Infrastructure architecture including Server Architecture, Network Architecture, Storage Architecture and Security Architecture. This senior architect will collaborate with all teams within IT to implement a cohesive vision and roadmap that would cover areas such as HA/DR architecture, load-balancing architecture, consolidated and distributed server architecture and tiered storage architecture.
Senior Architect of Application Development – Bensenville, IL: The role demands an experienced JAVA Architect with a background in Web based applications. The person will be responsible for participating in the definition and design of the Enterprise Information Technology architecture with a focus on Web/Java technologies and processes. Provide high quality technology solutions that address the business needs by continually enhancing the functionality of web based applications. Helps define Web/Java standards, procedures and techniques and contribute to the documentation. Remain aware of new technologies / programming languages.
Senior Business Analyst – Bensenville, IL: Role Summary Responsible for working with the business to analyze business requirements for the IS deliverables for U.S. Cellular® projects. Produce specifications for any new / change to technology applications. Work with the development team to ensure that they understand the business and functional specifications. Review functional design and test deliverables to ensure that they meet the requirements.
Release Analyst – Bensenville, IL: Work closely with Project Managers / Build Leads to understand the technology to be implemented, and the standards and methodology used to ensure a quality product. Appropriately plan for the deployment of a quality release. Provide communications and best in class support for solutions we provide.
RF Engineer – Various Locations: Design new and optimize existing cellular facilities. Meet with city planners on design specifications and structures. Endeavor to meet subscriber demand while improving call quality. Solicit input from Sales and Customer Care, and work with Network Operations to achieve this goal.
System Performance Engineer – Various Locations: Identify and resolve system performance-affecting issues. Coordinate or complete channel plans for assigned systems and by suggest hand-off/cell balancing parameters for new cell sites. Work with field personnel on existing system problems such as interference, poor cell site performance, antenna system redesign, traffic/VCH capacity, and hand-offs/cell balancing. Analyze and/or collect data from drive test instruments and from OM’s and logs collected from switch.
RF Planning Engineer – Chicago, IL: This position is at the corporate level and leads cross-functional, regional RF Engineering and System Performance teams in comprehensive technical studies, trials, and evaluations of new air interface technologies, infrastructure, and performance monitoring tools. The position also requires frequent close collaboration with other technical and non-technical groups within U.S. Cellular.
Sr Mgr, National Switch & Data Planning – Chicago, IL: Manages senior technical associates in the long-range planning of core network infrastructure. Drives rigorous business case analysis of complex scenarios involving $100M+ in capital expenditures each year. Coordinates architecture planning with multiple stakeholder groups, including regional, Corporate and vendor teams. Single point of contact for regulatory requests from state and federal agencies.
Switch Engineer – Various Locations: Oversee the daily operations of the cellular switching systems. Provide troubleshooting, and fault resolution of all switch and supporting equipment. Conduct hardware/software upgrades, changes and installation of new hardware. Perform routine and preventative maintenance including software database. Nortel or Lucent experience required.
Retail Wireless Consultant: Sales and customer focused position which interfaces with U.S. Cellular customers activating new service and maintaining existing service in retail locations. Flexible work schedules which includes evenings and weekends in a fast paced environment. Must have one year previous sales experience, be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED. Full and part time positions available across the country.

End User Services Analyst: The support of infrastructure and application components on-site with the business is the primary focus of this role. Providing users guidance and support by assisting in problem identification and resolution on-site. The Analyst acts as the key contact for on-site and remote users for terminal and production problems and inquiries. Knowledge of storage area networks, active directory and server experience in a clustered environment is preferred.
