Symmetrix Software Engineer
EMC Symmetrix is the storage platform that revolutionized the storage industry. Symmetrix provides available, reliable, high-performance storage that will expand quickly and easily in the future. With more than 70,000 systems shipped worldwide since 1990, organizations of all sizes rely on Symmetrix for constant data access, business continuity, and massive consolidations. This position is with the Symmetrix Software Group. This role is a key principle or senior level software engineer position that requires strong technical skills in a large scale software development environment. The successful candidate will work very closely with a high performance team of software developers who work on host based Symmetrix control software. Technologies utilized include components of the Solutions Enabler product, as well as interaction with Symmetrix microcode to ensure new feature requests are met. The Symmetrix software engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of methods to manage, test and troubleshoot storage related issues running in IBM z/OS Mainframe environment using GDPS. This person has primary responsibility to support the GDPS environment for all of the Symmetrix engineering organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The storage development engineer is responsible for the development and maintenance of the NetWorker product, the fastest and most flexible backup and recovery solution in the industry. Senior Director of Strategic Alliances
The senior director will develop business alliances that leverage EMC hardware and software technology in the marketplace. In this role, he or she will manage the technical, marketing and sales force engagement aspects of the relationships. The QA engineer will serve as an Individual contributor in the project QA team. Associate Technical Consultant
Working under the guidance of senior technology consultants, the associate technical consultant (ATC) will participate in the associate program to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to perform and excel core job responsibilities. Associate Storage Operations Specialist
The associate storage operations specialist is responsible for day-to-day storage management as required by the Managed Storage Services contract and service level agreements (SLAs) between EMC and the client. This is a technical role and the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the storage infrastructure.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • May own operational responsibility for storage provisioning and availability at the customer site(s). Provisions storage based on standardized procedures detailed in the Operational Run Book and to meet customer agreed upon SLAs

Associate Implementation Specialist
The associate implementation specialist provides software-related custom integration and implementation support on EMC products at the customer site; this may include pre-site inspection, initial installation, troubleshooting, implementation, customization, integration, and outline orientation for the customer. The associate engineer is responsible for recording and updating customer calls on customer service call tracking databases in a timely and accurate manner.
Defined protocols and independent judgment will be utilized by this person to properly escalate more complex issues to more experienced staff in order to resolve customer issues in the most expedient manner possible. The associate engineer works closely with the customer to resolve technical issues, primarily on UNIX, HPUX, NT, SUN Solaris, AIX and/or MVS operating systems. He or she will redirect or provide necessary follow-up with customers and customer service management to ensure issue is satisfactorily resolved.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic technical support to internal, domestic and international EMC customers within the call center
  • Work as part of a team ensuring smooth transitions for customer and field reported software issues
  • Responsible for sharing all acquired knowledge concerning problem resolution with field, and other departments as appropriate; contribute to centralized problem identification and resolution database

Associate Customer Engineer – CSAP
The associate customer engineer will learn to perform installations, preventative and remedial maintenance on EMC equipment at a wide variety of customer locations and environments. The successful candidate will work with an assigned mentor, team members, customers and direct managers to gain a full understanding of EMC products and culture. The associate customer engineer is also expected to adhere to administrative policies and escalation procedures.

The technology solutions associate project manager works in conjunction with the account team, and is responsible for the delivery of "billable" services for EMC engagements. This person in this role will manage the life cycle of small to medium size, low risk projects from architectural design through to customer acceptance and customer service handover.
